WORLD MISSIONS
First
Pres supports a number of missionaries throughout
the world.
If you would like to know more about this,
contact the Missions Committee through the church office.
World Impact is a Christian missions
organization dedicated to ministering God's love in the inner cities of
America. Its purpose is to honor and glorify God and delight in
Him in the inner cities by knowing God and making Him known.
world Impact ministers cross-culturally to people unreached by the
gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism, follow-up, discipleship and
indigenous church-planting. Our
long-time connection to World Impact is Susie Krehbiel, who grew up in
this
congregation and whom you help support through your Mission dollars each year. For more information about
World Impact and Dr. Phillips, click the file folder above.
On March 21, the
quarterly Special Offering will be received which is used for ALL of the FPC Mission partners.

Operation
Christmas Child - 2009
THANKS to all who donated boxes and/or volunteered! Please
continue to pray for the children who will be receiving the boxes, and
watch here for updates.

What
is Operation
Christmas Child?
Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate
situations around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes
and the Good
News of God’s love. This program of Samaritan’s Purse provides an
opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on
missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus
Christ, God’s greatest gift. Along with shoebox gifts, millions of
children are given Gospel booklets in their own language.
2009
was our church's fifth year to serve as a collection site for
Operation Christmas Child.

How
to pack a shoebox:
1.
Use an empty shoe box (standard size, please) or a small plastic
container. You can wrap the box (lid separately so the box can be
opened), but wrapping is not required. Most important, pray for
the child who will receive your gift.
2.
Boy or Girl? Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or a
girl, and the child's age category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Use the
appropriate boy/girl label from the OCC website. Mark the correct
age category on the label, and tape the label to the top of your
box.
3.
Fill with gifts. You may use this
list for suggestions.
4.
Include your donation. Please donate $7 or more for each shoebox
you prepare to help cover shipping and other project costs. Place
your check made out to Samaritan's Purse in an envelope, place inside
your box on top of the gifts. If preparing multiple boxes, you
may use one check. You can also make your donation online here.
(If you use online donation, you will have an "EZ donation" label to
print for your shoebox).
5.
Drop off your box. Place a rubber band around each closed box and
drop off at the Collection Center nearest you. If First Pres,
Olathe, will not work best, click
here for more locations. |
